We are Adrian Neal and Suzy Ellen, certified hypnotherapists from the Jacquin Hypnosis Academy. We started Clockwise Hypnotherapy to help as many people as possible live the life they want to live. We cannot turn back time and change the past - time only moves in one direction and that is forward, but we can improve the quality of our lives and change our futures.
Suzy specialises in weight loss and eating habits and has extensive knowledge of nutrition and fitness. Adrian, a commercial pilot, specialises in fear of flying and fear of public speaking. However we are both qualified to treat all issues, so you are free to choose whichever therapist makes you feel more comfortable.
Hypnosis is a collaborative process, think of one of us as your guide through this experience. With hypnotherapy you and I work together to achieve the end result. I use my expertise to initiate and create a response, you collaborate with me by listening and engaging your imagination to the suggestions I present to you.
What does it Feel Like?
It's a fun relaxed process. It was described to us recently as a calming of thoughts. A recent client quoted "For the first time in many years my head was free from all the little thoughts that occupy my mind". Imagine a shaken snow globe where the snow represents your thoughts. Hypnosis holds the snow globe still and allows your thoughts to settle, and when your thoughts settle the picture becomes clear.
The experience of hypnosis is different for everyone. Some clients experience in-depth involvement during hypnosis, others sit there thinking nothing is happening. Changes do happen whatever your experience at the time. The changes made are realised later - when you sit down and realise you have not had any need for a cigarette for the entire day, when you think about booking a flight and feel completely calm, when you see a spider and have no reaction, when you are throwing away the biscuits you used to eat every day because they have gone stale.
Is it Safe?
Yes it is. Most people's idea of hypnotism comes from watching the reaction a stage hypnotist gets from their audience. The people on stage at a hypnotism show are selected because they are suggestible and extrovert in character. Coupled with the skills of a good hypnotist this makes great entertaining theatre. Despite how it may seem, these performers in a stage hypnosis show are actually fully in control of what they do. A hypnotist cannot force you to do anything you don't want to do. This is also true during therapy - you remain aware and in control at all times.
